Banana leaf rice – Indian fast food. Environmentally friendly.
At Sri Paandi, service is efficient and quick. You WILL be ambushed by men in purple before you can text “Ciki, save me!!”.
Once seated, allow the warmth of the service to envelope you. Say “Nandri” (thank you) with a wiggle of the head each time something is presented before you. “Chicken varuvel?” “Nandri.” *wiggle* “Thairu?” “Nandri.” *wiggle* “Fish curry?” “Nandri.” *wiggle* “Fried bittergourd?” “Nandri.” *wiggle*
You get the idea. Of course, if you can’t see your partner’s face thanks to the mound of rice on your banana leaf, yell “Pothummmm!!“. (enough)
*wiggle*
To indicate contentment, burp.

Oh, and real men wear purple.

OH.MY.GOD! This is so unreal. Kinda like I’ve just been knighted by the Queen. Such an honour!
”Nandri.” *wiggle*
Btw, I think you can hire Ciki as your model for every post from now on. Even the iPhone camera loves her.
Request: Your highness, I beg of you. Please bring on the DSLR shots! *on my knees*
Oh LL! I miss Sri Paandi oh so much! And you two lovely ladies went to my fav branch too. Used to stay behind their outlet you know. Must give in to the Diva’s pleas and return to SP for dinner one of these days.
If only that finicky Devil of mine liked Indian food. Sighs…
Its great that you have ..at last found a truly brave & bold beautiful boisterous worthy ( no football please ) companion for your present & next culinary escapades par ultimates and one day we shall do the same
Thank you for the vocals !
eeeeeeeeeee..cute post!
i like sri paandi’s thosai, roti, tomato/coconut chutney, puri…and the list goes on…yum yum
Woo wooo… I miss those stuff. I have not touched Indian food for ages…
You oso go comic-ky di? Be even funnier if there were more than one character.. 😀
Now is this head-wiggling a positive or negative allusion?? Over here, you ask a ker-ling yan something, they smile and wiggle their head without answering you. Is that a yes or a no?? Because when they finally answer, regardless of whether the answer is affirmative or not, they still do it with a smile and a whole lot of wiggle…
They serve a mean fried sotong too – i miss! Your post makes me wanna have banana leaf dinner tonight!
Hmmm…. nandri and head-wiggling ain’t enough to do it!
C’mon! lose the fork and spoon! Only eating with hands would do banana-leaf justice. 😀 No wonder they call me chindian…
And yes, real men wear purple. Coz I do too, its a powerful color. 😀
Hahaha, Nandri + wiggle is officially my new mantra & mechanism to deal with everything good or bad that life decides to throw my way!
LFB: How about this for an idea. I join you and the Diva at SP (i missing the massala potato and fiery dry masala chicken and fried tenggiri too) while the Devil and McC go off for some non-spicy food! 🙂
Gasp !
I might marry em too.
Real men cook mean curries.
😛
Rumbe nandri.
Rumbe nalaregre.
yumyum
Re real men and purple, of course they do. My honey has a purple shirt he wears to work. Matches perfectly with the purpley striped tie I bought for him.
eh really diff from your usual posts lah. but so used to your magnificient DSLR shots, this one looks pale in comparison…

Why the susu must specify lembu? They also have susu kambing etc?
I like fried bittergourd!!

A Lil Fat Monkey: Damn, you’re insulting my iPhone photos again. They’re not that bad wot. Or are they? @_@
LFB: Ditch da devil….muahahahahaha. Or teach da devil to eat curry la….sikit sikit lama lama jadi bukit, or sumthing liddat.
BSG: Yup, if it weren’t for her, I’d really be insulted by everyone else for my bad pics. Will endeavour to satisfy your appetite, Your Highness King of the Backstreets.
thenomadGourmand: Wow, you’re really a fan. Next time, will call you la.
thule aka leo: Are you in any way related to Kenny Mah’s Devil? hehe.
gfad: We’re a friendly race, we are. As for adding another character, that would have just uglified the comic la.
Pureglutton: Must try the fried sotong next time. Well, I hope you got your BLR fix. 🙂
Leonard Loh: Lose the fork and spoon?? NEVA! 😛 There goes the french manicure, ya know. 😉 Kidding la….I eat with my fingers oso. Oooh you must come makan with us and promise to wear your purple shirt! When when? 😀
550ml jar of faith: Don’t worry be happy, right? Good mantra that.
And that’s the reason why my favourite gals are Annalakshmi, Komala, Sakunthala and Devi. HAWT!
A Lil Fat Monkey: What?!?! McC oso doesn’t eat spicy food. Aiyoyo kadavalei!
chaokar: Wah, your tamil not bad hor. Sigh…cannot con you guys la. 😛 (But I got one con word up there wor….why nobody noticed wan?)

Bangsar-bAbE: Eek, the rice on her leaf is equivalent to two bowls full ler. You must love your rice, babe! ^_^
Precious Pea: Hehe…once in awhile, we try to be. ^_^
lotsofcravings: Hey, have we done our BLR yet? Didn’t we talk abt it for a long time di? 😛
keropokman: Coz it’s so strange to say Bru Coffee Susu. The Lembu completes it, doesn’t it? I like fried bittergourd too. The more garing, the betta.
foodbin: I used to go to Grand City in my University days, but haven’t been there since. Someone told me their roti canai is really good. Have you tried it?

Ah Pa: Yeah lor, the BFF took my monkey mascot suit out the other day! And Ciki kept spanking the monkey. Got it all sweaty, sticky and curried. Still at the dry cleaners now. Until then I can’t blog yet.
